Anyone else feel cheated by the ending?
I thought the whole thing with Smash Mouth charity was a kick to the balls for an ending. Real let down.

shareYeah aside from the ending it was a good movie.
shareI thought it was sweet. I wanted Mr Bean to win it all though.
shareYeah *beep* the starving children. U/I/We who are fortunate enough to have an imdb account sure need the money more than those without nothing.
shareYou say that as if this movie weren't a comedy. There was no comedy in them all voluntarily giving up the money to charity. That charity concert didn't belong in this movie in the first place. What made It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World so great was that they all ended up without the money but the movie pulled it off without any of them voluntarily giving it up.
shareI never thought the ending fit the movie. It was all slap stick funny throughout the film, but then becomes a bit sappy and very cheezy. I wonder if there ever was an alternate ending. Oh and I always hated that song!
shareActually, the ending fit nicely with the overall story which was really about rich people in Vegas who have nothing better to do than making ridiculous bets. The ending where *spoiler* John Cleese had to match his money to charity was a great ending. He was hilarious in this movie though!

No! It was a perfect ending! The crowd surfing was great!
Gee Woodle, Space Kadoodle!
A bit random, yes, but doesn't ruin this very funny movie for me. Plus as a 90s kid any Smash !outh appearance is a good appearance haha. Besides, how else could you have ended it? Not like anyone truly "deserved" it in the end. (Though personally I was pulling for Rowan and Breckin/Amy)
shareThe ending sucked because the movie didn't do enough of a job of establishing what a douche bag Sinclair was. I mean, so what if he used the contestants to gamble? If he had meant to stiff them in the end, then he'd be an asshole. But he actually had the money to give the winner. So, why am I supposed to feel as if he's getting his just desserts by having the money go to charity?
