Who else thought Luft's narration was totally unnecessary?

I thought this was a really well-written, well-acted biopic, but did Lorna Luft really need to add that sporadic narration? I understand she wanted to provide backstory to what was taking place onscreen but i found it very distracting. I thought the world of the film as well as Blanchard/Davis' and many others' performances felt very organic, but the narration reminded me I was just watching a movie.

Lorna wasn't narrating, it was Cynthia Gibb who did Lorna's narration.

Whoever was doing the narration, now that you mention it, I don't think it was necessary either. It got especially annoying during the section with Judy and Lorna's dad, Sid Luft where the narration just seemed to be gushing about what a perfect couple they were while all this turmoil was going on between them.
