ok, just watched this film on television, and i'll admit that i probably didn't understand 100% because it was dubbed in french, but i'll give this a shot anyway. i'm thinking he DIDN'T know about the crimes because he seemed a little surprised to notice the body (and possibly the broken peton), which was what gave the sister that chance to try to hit him there at the end. he wasn't trying to hide anything, as far as i can tell--he said (in that thoroughly bizarre scene with her tied to the table) that he had nothing to hide from her. in my own opinion, it's a little weird that she got so into being a spy and never thought that maybe she could just ask him about stuff. he left her because 1. she killed his sister and 2. she was a horrible wife to him! she didn't talk to him or trust him about anything, and all her crap got them into that situation at the end. i'm sure there's more to it than i was able to pick up, but all the same, that's what i got from it.
I think because she loved him (and as far i've understood, they *beep* together when they were young...) she said that alain belongs to her and to no other women else...
She killed his sister because his sister was about to kill him.
If he had nothing to hide then he would not lock up a closet of stuff so she could not get to it.
They never explained about the rape allegations, that seemed to have been put in the movie just so she would have a reason to doubt him. The writers wanted her to doubt him so the viewers would doubt him and believe he was a monster.
It's been known at the end--which is the *beep* up part-- that she and Adam had, what you say, an incestous relationship. (e.g remember the part where she shouts at him "Who gave you your first piece of silk?")
Digusting, but it is the main reason why she's so protective of Adam.
I'll shove that bat up your ass and turn you into a popsickle
He left her at the end because she never really trusted him like he was wishing for. However, I'm under the impression he was suspecting her sister for killing them but he had no evidence....
he was not aware of his sisters killings because of the look of surprise and pain on his face when he saw the first body. as for alice talking to him i got the feeling she was becoming afraid of him. i didnt get that adam and deborah had an incestuous relationship. will definitley have to watch this one again. i caught it on REElZ which they blurrred all the good stuff hahahaha. and there are some sisters that are very protective of their brothers not because of a 'relationship' just because.
