What were the 'gay' stuff in it?
I only caught the english (and censored) version...and it was about eight years ago...so what exactly was left out that we couldn't know? ("we" being europeans)
shareA lot of the stuff they cut out was almost anything dealing with relationships, aside from Sakura's and Syaoran's (Li). I guess they felt the relationships wouldn't be handled well by other audiences.
Here's the basic jist of what relationships were cut out (sorry, I'm going to default to their actual names since I just recently finished Cardcaptor Sakura). Spoilers to follow for those who don't want them.
Toya (Tori) and Yukito (Julian) have a prominent, and only straight out admitted gay relationship in the anime. While they never say they're a couple, CLAMP makes the point very clear that they are, and the scenes show it. They're the most prominent out of all the removed relationships.
Tomoyo (Madison) has a huge crush on her second cousin, Sakura. She is very obsessive over filming Sakura and making battle costumes for her. Sakura ia oblivious to this however, and Tomoyo never says anything about how she feels about Sakura because she just wants her to be happy.
Earlier on in the anime, Syaoran (Li) has a crush on Yukito (Julian). It's short lived, but still there.
Rika (Rita, I think, I can't remember her English name, she's the one with the short curly hair) has a crush on her teacher, Mr. Terada. Throughout the anime, she always makes stuff for him, and there is a hinted relationship between the two.
On the less controversial end, Meilin (Mei Lin) was engaged to Syaoran (Li) in the anime. I believe the English one claims them to be cousins, and they are in the full version as well, but Meilin is very open about the engagement. Also, Chiharu (Chelsea) and Yagasaki (not sure on his English name) have a relationship, but they're made to be cousins in the English version to explain why she strangles him so much. (She actually does it because he loves to tell lies to everyone.)
That's most of the taken out relationships I can think of. When they ended up cutting them out, they had to take out a lot of the scenes to the anime, which is why it ended up so choppy. I'd highly recommend watching the full version some time; it was a lot more enjoyable and in depth than Cardcaptors.
This full version, is it also in english?

Ive only ever seen the full version available with subtitles. i doubt its all available in English.

No wonder in the English one at the start every time Li sees Julian he runs away. that always bugged me that i didnt know.
I was told Toya did some gay kissing and I didn't see that in the japanese version.
shareI've noticed CLAMP very rarely has their characters kiss, at least in the animes of theirs I've seen. I've watched the series probably 5 or 6 times and nowhere in there does Toya kiss Yukito.
sharei had NO IDEA that there were cut out stuff ok so 1. i am from canada (so i didn't know there was a japense version) 2. i am 16 (i was like between the age of 6-9 when this came on).
Ok so i have seen Card Captors not Card Captors Sakura but just Card Captors alot of times!!! i have been watching it for the past 10 years it showed in canada for 4 years from 2000-2004. I just recently started watching again. I have become a BIG FAN in these years. But something i never knew is that there was a full version NEVER EVER KNEW ABOUT IT! Its interesting to know there was a full version. I had no idea either that there were Gay/same sex relationships in this either. I thought the only relationships were Sakura and Li, Sakura's crush on Julian, Melin and Li thats all i could see. Never knew Julian being Gay or Li. Also Madison wanting to have something beyond a friendship with Sakura i never knew about it either. Its kinda interesting but i would never think there would be these type of relationships in these shows. Anyways thanks for telling me!
Japanese seem to be more open about this kind of stuff when it comes to animes and such. then when shows like CardCaptor Serkura gets picked up by the U.S/Canada, it becomes extremely edited. U.S is full of very religious closed minded people who would protest if same sex relations where in their kids show, claiming that if their kids see this stuff it would make them think its ok (which I have absolutly no problem with lol) and they think it'll make their kids gay. I read on Yahoo! Answers that Cardcaptors was so heavily edited that it went from 70 episodes (japanese version) to a mere 36 episodes to tone down the "gay vibe" lol I've been watching CardCaptor Sekura, and Lemme tell you, SO MUCH BETTER UNEDITED! I honestly think I won't be able to go back to the WB version ever again. And trust me for those of you who are iffy about having to read, once you get use to it, you don't really notice anymore ^.^

There's a second dub, one for the second film, but I don't know about the first film, which was dubbed in the original dub. I feel like it's a double edged sword, because Tomoyo being in love with Sakura is played as a joke in the original Japanese version, the manga had teachers dating kids, although I'm not sure that made it into the anime, but, although I love the Nirvana dub for not having homophobic portrayals or illegal relationships, we miss out on Sakura's brother and his best friend being together and any good sides to Tomoyo being a lesbian or pan or bi.
