UK and US cultures unite! (?)

It's a sad fact that today, the US and the UK seem to exchange the worst aspects of their culture. They (the US) give us fast food, N'Sync and 'blockbuster' movies, we (the UK) give them crappy game shows, reality TV and shoddy tabloid journalism.

So it's refreshing that, through a movie like this, a small cultural exchange can take place. Through the music of Belle & Sebastien, the UK can discover an intersting film-maker, and maybe vice-versa in the US.

There are many interesting things happening both sides of the Atlantic today - as many as ever. You just have to look a lot harder to find them now.

Some of us already loved both Belle and Sebastian and Todd Solondz, and just wet ourselves when we found out they were teaming up... ;)

...but sadly, hardly any of the soundtrack they wrote is even used in the film. *insert disappointed scowls here*
