easily for me. No stereotype characters. Every character is unique and gets to shine. The dialogue is the funniest and best written I have seen in a FF game. The graphic style is incredible. The graphics don't even look outdated really because of the style. Every area is beautiful. The game play is fun, and the story is the best in the FF series. It's sad people look past this game

For me, Final Fantasy VII takes the cake in terms of storyline. However, FF IX has without a doubt the best characters in any video game that I have played. They are funny, interesting, even tragic. And what makes them so great is that you see the growth among all of them. I love the banther between Steiner and Zidane, and it's so great to see them finally earn each other's respect by the game's end. Vivi is such a tragic character and brought so much depth to the game.
