Why didn't they go out the bedroom window ?

At the start of the film the kid jumps out the bedroom window.Why didn't they go out that way at the end instead of going into the hallway and running back into Rick ?

Probably because at that point they felt like they could still leave without arousing suspicion, if they just left without being seen, they may have looked more suspicious.

Everything doesn't happen for a reason, people simply justify reasons for things that happen

Also, she was pregnant... Why would she go out a two story high window if she's pregnant...
