I'm in the middle of watching this....and ARGGHH

Why won't anyone believe Danny and Frank!!!! This is making me SO mad

Johnny Depp is the best there is.....

Yea I just watched it on TBS as I suppose you just did as well.
I have to say I got hooked in regardless of how bad it was because
Vince Vaughn was playing a real bad guy :). Not some wisecracking
guy but a bad guy! Too funny! And Buscemi was as usual Buscemi which
is great! And Travolta was well...Travolta.
But anyway the whole no one will believe him thing is the usual
plot device and without it there would be no story!
I cant even recall when this was in the theater. Was it ever out
or straight to dvd?!

reply

Yea I remember this being in theatres...I remember thinking that it looked interesting...and I know that they couldn't let anyone believe him, because then there'd be no story (just after I typed this I looked up and realized that you had written the same thing) but it was still frustrating nonetheless...

Yeah, it was in theatres. I actually went to see it. The theatre was pretty packed too. It went to video pretty quick though....
I went to see it solely because of Vince, but it was still pretty cheesy.

It was a bit annoying. To begin with, you could see the police had problems believing the boy since he had a reputation of being a liar but when Frank started finding evidence of the truth then you'd think the police would look into things much deeper. I know Rick was rich but that doesn't mean the police should just think he was innocent because of that. And the mother was stupid for never once considering her son was telling the truth or picking up he was scared of Rick.

rick registered for a soup tureen. this would remove any suspicion a sane policeman might have about him.
