Very unrealistic part

After Danny sees Rick murder Coleman he goes to the police. Rick now knows that Danny was there and saw everything. Rick knows his cover is blown. Danny knows Rick is a murderer. If you were Danny, would you go home with Rick and your mother? It's ridiculous. The kid resisted a little bit, but didn't put up much of a fight and didn't even look scared. I don't think Danny acted the way a kid would really act. They also say that he's 12 in the movie. I didn't think he looked 12, but okay, he's 12. He didn't look at all like a 12 year old kid that saw his stepfather murder someone. I'm not sure who to blame here. Maybe the script. But it's also the actor's fault.

It's the script and the director's fault.

Huh, watching it now, haven't got to this part. I thought for sure the comment was gonna be about the kid jumping into the back seat of the car, closing the door behind him, audibly and no dome light - mom & step dad standing right there and didn't hear or see a thing. Guess theres still plenty more nonsense to come ...

This was something that stood out to me too! He barely puts up a fight and then gets mad at his father so he just storms off WITH the killer?! Then to top it off he is in bed trying to go to sleep like its any other night. Adults would act far more scared and he is supposed to be 12.
