On the Facets DVD I noticed that there's a static sound in the background for most of the film. Is this part of the movie or is it the cause of a poor DVD?

There's definitely no static when you see this film in the theater, so:
Faulty DVD.
Get a new one! The silence in this movie is pretty much as eloquent as the sound.
Thanks for responding. The static isn't throughout the whole film, just the opening credits and a couple of other scenes in the beginning I think.
