Prince's language

The Prince was not talking Hungarian, but some slavic language. What was it, Polish, Czech, Russian..?

reply

It sounded distinctly like Slovak to me -- which, given the long history of tense relations between Slovaks and Hungarians, could lead to some interesting speculation about the intended/unintended implications of casting the Hungarians' backyard nemesis as the "Other"/instigator of evil.

My Russian friend thought it was Polish, so at least it was not Russian.

You are so pathetic :)

What on Earth made you think it was Russian? :)

reply

IMDB says it's Slovak..

Language: Hungarian | Slovak

reply

Yes, it was Slovak. The late Attila Kaszás provided the voice for the Prince who was a brilliant Slovak-born Hungarian actor.

"A voice from behind me reminds me. Spread out your wings you are an angel."
