Moderators Deleting Posts?

I posted a completely civil reply to a general discussion on this board, which admittedly did question some issues with this film.

This post is now gone completely, several hours after posting, though there was nothing confrontational or inappropriate about it!

I have seen this happen before and I am very curious who is in charge of the imdb message boards and what warrants a post to be deleted?! Who is in charge here?

This is VERY disconcerting!

it would be nice if mr imdb had a short statement at each deleted thread to say what played out.

Actually, every user can file a complaint against a post with the "Report Abuse" link in every thread. I'm not sure if a moderator really takes the time to check the reason given of each and every post.
The reason can be as simple as containing a spoiler without a warning…

I'd be interested to read the deleted post from the OP.

Chaos reigns

I had a problem with this before on the Satantango thread, the first time I've noticed a post of mine being deleted. I was talking about my concerns over an abusive scene (I won't go into details), and someone responded with a particularly nasty response, mocking my concern. When I replied to their nastiness, my post was deleted. After reading SoulSleeper's post and seeing the deleted posts on this thread, though, I am assuming that previously I must have pissed off that poster and he acted like a child by "reporting abuse".
