Ali is a straight up douche.

That being said he was one of the greatest boxer's ever but he was a douche. Always annoyed the *beep* out of a lot of people. The stuff he said to Joe,Sonny, etc is a clear sign of an A$$ HOLE.

"That wasn't flying, that was........falling with style"

reply

Me and my mom were talking about him this morning. She actually knew him when she was little and he was a hometown hero and she was just speaking on how down to earth he was. He would buy her and her friends ice cream in the park(this was late 50s early 60s) and even talk to them about how important school was and knowing what you wanted to be. He was not an *beep* You're the jerk.

reply

Noone,

People like the OP are nothing but jealous losers who despise Ali because he's so revered. You just have to ignore them.

BTW, assuming that's your facial pic, you're very pretty.

reply

What are you 10? 12?

reply

And what are you? Stupid?

reply

"Nothing but jealous losers". Is that the greatest argument you can mount in response to haveing your feelings by an unwanted opinion?

reply

Truth hurts, doesn't it?

reply

You need to think next level now. You're an adult. Arguments aren't handed like this because they're childish. I'm guessing that point is moot to you?

reply

No, but I would suggest that you change or simply refrain from whatever it is that you're smoking; that dialogue of yours is TOTALLY senseless.

reply

Ali was a douche. The majority of people recognizes that. Nothing will change what he said. Accept this. Move on. Live your life.

reply

And you don't know WTF you're talking about. Accept that and move on.

reply

I seem to have struck a nerve. Perhaps, it was the consensus that caused this? I don't know how else to say it. It been well documented and scrutinized that Ali's antics were douche esqe; ergo, the support for the thread. Do you understand?

reply

And where sir is this "documented"?

I love Ali, he was THE greatest heavyweight ever and his resume is levels above any other great heavyweight and he did do more for the black community than almost any other human being in history period......... But none of that changes the fact that Ali was a complete a$$hole. Joe Frazier was a poor black man from a *beep* neighborhood while Ali grew up having it very good in comparison. Yet Ali called his fellow black man an Uncle Tom just to sell himself and his fights. He did a lot of sh*tty things and he even admits to them today.

So all you clowns who probably never even watched an entire Ali fight besides the second Liston fight, talking like you know everything about him and pretending he was a saint and did no wrong....... Then you are only fooling yourselves.

Cash,

You were most likely misguided by that HBO documentary, "Thilla in Manila." But what that documentary, which was nothing but pure propaganda and a Ali hatchet job, neglects to say is that Ali called Joe a "Tom" because Joe--similar to other fighters like Floyd Patterson and Ernie Terrell--would constantly and DELIBERATELY dis Ali by calling him "Clay." (Check out this archived footage here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CiuBus9Xxk)

Ali called these fighters "Toms" because he believed that they were siding with the white conservatives who didn't respect his name change. But it was retaliation.

I think it's how Will Smith portrayed him, angry, a sour puss, wrinkled forehead 24/7, etc. But if you watch his interviews or vids, he is very charismatic and has a glint and trying to stop a smile whenever he insults or rants poetically. It's all part of an act, problem is, Will Smith took it all to seriously and took out every charm from it. You'll notice people are smiling and laughing when Ali opens his mouth. But when Smith opens his mouth, everyone is insulted. Idk if it's Smith, Mann or both are to blame for this because Smith knows how to be charismatic. But he had no charisma here unfortunately. Pacino when he works with Mann drips with charisma.
