I was watching the last season on Showtime but I missed the finale. Last I saw Bird's husband was in trouble with some guy. Damon and Teri were done. There was a preview of Brian (I think) telling Teri that he'd always been in love with her.
Wow! All this time and you still don;t know what happened? well look no further! Soul Food is one of my favorite shows (even though it's done)! Here's what the end was like (I'm gonna try to make this short):
* The guy Lem (bird's husband) was working for was Baron and he was like a big shot in the city, but he was also crooked. Becasue of Lems ties to him, Bird got kidnapped and was gonna break up with Lem, but they worked it out. Bird had an affair with Max's boss! That part was really JUICY!!! But everything ended up working out for them. They made a cute little family!
* Terri did try to have a relationship w/Brian, but she realized it wouldn't work so they broke it off. She tried to date this guy that also didnt work for her!
* Maxine was pregnant (in real life and on the show; the daughter Brook went away for a while to get help with her learning issues; Kenny sold Chadway Towing and when he and max went to go pick up Brooke, they stopped at this casino and won some money, then they lost it all! Kinda unsure of this part, but i think on the way back, Max played one last dollar and they won again!!!
* last but not least, Terri was gonna take a job with her firm in ATL, where she was gonna be a full partner, with her name on the title and all! At the last minute, damon saw her on TV and went to talk to her one last time. He has since been sober, in Cali and was Mandell's foster dad. Remember Mandell, the little boy that he and Terri were keeping cuz his mom was on drugs and then damon dropped him and they took him back?!?! So, just as terri was gonna go to ATL (and her sisters were happy for her, but at the same time sad), Damon professed his love for her and she decided to go for it! The very end was them getting married outside in a small ceremony withe just the family there. It was the best ever!!! Of course I was all into it.
I know this was a lot, but if you want to hear more, please hit me up! I left out lots of details cuz didnt want this to be a novel!
not to get off topic but is it just me or does the first season dvd seem to have more then the first seaon on it... i know some of those episodes weren't the first season but hey it was so long ago i could be wrong...
Thanks for the update. I watch on BET now to catch up. do you know where their website is? They used to have recipes posted on there and I can not find it anywhere..Help...
I remember they used to have the best website on Showtime.com. They use to show behind the scenes features, they showed interview on videos BUT when Soul Food ended it didnt exist anymore. I was really disappointed
First, if you were watching this, you had to make sure to wait until the end of the episode - the last few minutes before the credits. I thought I had seen it all, as they show the wedding of Terri and Damon. However, they also show a recap to tie everything together (why did they cancel this show; it was fantastic!!!)
Lem and Bird had another baby (I believe it was a girl). Lem's natural foods/grocery store, Jeremiah's, did very well and even closed another store in town. They wound-up buying a new house.
The Joseph House, by the way, was used by Maxine - as she was going to start a foundation for women with the money she won from the casino. (Kenny, as mentioned previously, sold his shop and made some major coinage.)
Maxine had twins, boy and girl, too.
Terri moved to LA and took a non-profit lawyer job. Damon was a motivational speaker and youth director (or something). In the narration, Ahmad stated that Terri and Damon thought about having kids, but didn't - instead devoting time to Mandell, each other, and their newly-chosen careers.
Unfortunately, the entire series isn't available. Season 1 is currently available on DVD and season 2 is set to be released next month. So, as of next month, you will only be able to have 2 seasons (and will have to watch the rest of the watered-down episodes on BET until the remaining seasons are released).
Baron had heart problems. In a previous episode, he collapsed with his heart, but refused to get medical help. Well, he had a heart attack, was in the hospital and later died, with Lem by his side.
