YES! YES! YES! I saw it on Wikipedia. Gosh, I almost had an orgasm when I saw that. This is awesome. Goodness, please don't take 4 yrs to release the remaining seasons. At this rate, it'll be 2019 by the time all 5 seasons are released.
Finally.....I'm gettin this soon as it drops.......From what i heard, depending on the sales, they'll be releasing all 5 seasons. They're also re-releasin the 1st season as well.
that's the cover and apparently the music has been changed for the DVD version (not really an issue for me since i haven't seen it)
The 5-disc DVD set will include all 20 episodes from the Second Season, for a total runtime of 16 Hours; 51 minutes (1,011 total minutes). Soul Food - The Series: The Second Season will have audio tracks in English (Dolby Digital, Stereo Surround) and will be presented in Full Screen.
Africanfusion--How has the music changed? Are they eliminating some of the music or some of the performances by the artists when they would go to Groove Theory? As long as the scenes don't change, I'm good. I've watched since day one on Showtime and gosh, BET's version is killing me.
i took it to mean the performances will stay the same but the backing music in certain scenes would be changed. i'm guessing artists/record labels didnt give the green light for their music to be used on the dvd.
Hmmm...maybe the artists didn't green-light, because from what I understand, much of the background music was written for Soul Food. They had their own soundtrack at one point. Boy, the entertainment industry is one crazy business.
Like another poster said, I just hope they don't remove any Groove Theory performances. Soul Food is, hands down, my favorite TV series ever. In addition to great story lines and performances, Soul Food (and I think a lot of critics forget this) introduced and presented a lot of fine musicians who no one may have heard of or brought classy musicians back into the spotlight.
