even after all this time.....

Six Feet Under is still one of my favorite shows of all time, if not my favorite. I remember starting the series when it first began. I basically binge watched again this weekend whenever I was home, and just watched the last 4 episodes that I recorded overnight this evening. It feels so nostalgic, but then again it feels like it hasn't been all that long since it ended. That's how timeless it is to me. I watched True Blood because it was an Alan Ball creation and it's crazy that even that show has now been over for a couple of years! I am still wiping away the tears from the SFU finale. It was just so, so good. Being in my late 30's now as opposed to my 20's (as I was during its original run), I found myself looking at some things differently than I did the first time around. For instance, I remember wondering why Nate was so cruel to Brenda in her "visions" of him, but now I realize that it was Brenda's inner struggle with herself. This was one show that could truly be analyzed in so many ways. I loved it and am now sad all over again that it's over! ;)

Is it sad that I'm just 16 but I can say when I was at the end of the series for the first time (about two years ago) I already felt like I got exactly what Brenda was going through in that scene? Honestly, the things her vision of Lisa says to her in A Coat of White Primer in a similar things were often verbatim things I can remember telling myself. It was honestly quite eye opening, and potentially life-changing - it made me really recognize how much of the psychological pain I have in my own life simply comes from my own skewed self image.

I can't to this day not hear 'Breakaway' by Kelly Clarkson, 'She's All I Need' by Maroon 5, and 'Breathe Me' by Sia and not think about Claire/SFU. And the latter song ALWAYS makes me tear up thinking about the final show.

Don't f@ck with me fellas! This aint my first time at the rodeo.

I watched it when it first aired and just finished binge watching it again on Amazon Prime.

Kind of thought I was crazy feeling sad again when I got to the finale episode knowing it was over ... again.

Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way even when re-watching it again.

Six Feet Under will always be one of my all-time favorite shows.
