wouldn't that all be sealed off for search for evidence?? Seems ricidulous the police would not have been using the car to look for clues over whether she had been murdered in it or what...

It's been a while since I've watched that ep., but wasn't it to the point where the investigators had already processed it for clues or evidence?

perhaps but isn't something like a car in a missing person case kept by cops and taken in?? I didn't think it would be processed so quickly in such a serious case...

The officer says something like "she hasn't been gone long enough for it to be considered a missing person's case yet".
