Was it really necessary to show Frank's face and skull half blown off by the gun?? That was so gruesome! Any time I watch this movie I cannot watch that scene!

shareI agree with you that it was gruesome, and it was very difficult for me to watch this scene when watching the movie a second time, knowing that it was coming. But I think that is the intention of the scene! To depict how horrible it was (since audiences are used to seeing people get murdered in movies and TV every day).

And it also showed how someone shot like that doesn't just jump right up, like in some movies.

As wicked as it is, that scene really brought that home, to me.

Nick Stahl was in Bully, and his character was murdered in that as well. I'm not sure if there is more graphic footage of it, but at one point you see his body being eaten by crabs. I guess Bully was more brutal as it was a group of people that each took a whack through various means (bat, gun, knife).
