Why Didn't Natalie Just LIE and say she saw...

Why didn't Natalie just lie on the stand and say she saw the murder? I mean come on, who was going to prove her wrong?

Also I know this is perspective, but its obvious Richard killed Frank; Natalie comes down stairs to see Frank in cold blood, eye missing. And Richard sitting at the table looking blank in the face, like he doesn't care. That was NOT an accident.

Why should Natalie perjure herself in a court of law? Believe it or not, but some folks feel that lying is wrong whatever the circumstances.

How would they be able to prove she didn't see it? Who was going to contest what she said? Her ex husband, who killed her boyfriend? Come on now.

The court questioning was based on the statement she made to the police. If she changed in in court, then she would have totally discredited herself as a liar, and that would have done more damage.
