I agree! I'm glad my son has a nice, normal girlfriend he has something in common with. And, she doesn't have an ex-husband bent on killing him.

So, in the film, why do you think Frank was with that woman, aside from physical attraction?

Yes, that's what the movie is about. A young man with a bright future hooks up with a white trash woman in a broken marriage with kids and a hateful ex!
Frank was with that older woman because she was a easy piece of a**! She wasn't even divorced yet!
Devastating!

Absolutely devastating. So many things could have been done to avoid Frank being killed. For one thing, he should have called the police instead of going over to Natalie's house and trying to deal with Richard himself. How stupid!

I think you're right, Frank liked the fact that Natalie was willing to put out. Did you notice how her skirt was on sideways when Matt went to the house for lunch and found Natalie and Frank together upstairs?

Someone in another thread commented that Frank may have been with Natalie because he tends to do the opposite of what his mother wants him to do, because she's always been so controlling.

She was still married to her crazy "ex" and Frank was quite a few years younger than she was. Frank had a lot going for him, plus he was going to college in the fall, etc. She had too much baggage for him.
He was too good for her! He should not have gotten mixed up with someone like her!

Not trailer trash. My guess is that prior to the breakup, Richard was still in good with his very wealthy family - she makes the comment about his getting his job back at the cannery, which presumably was much, much better than just working the line, and paid more than enough so that she didn't have to work. After they split, he apparently loses favor with his family, loses his job, and his dad has to make the child support (and probably the mortgage) payments.

After the murder, she moves in with her mom and gets the job as a cashier to help pay the bills.

Hot 36-year-old single moms have needs. Like someone else said, she was definitely a cougar, but not trailer trash.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

I am ashamed of all of you posting here using such an insulting term as "Trailer Trash." How arrogant and insulting all of you are. Dig down and find some kindness and manners.
