What ever happened to Carmen and Lauren?

Remember in Season 4 how the New teacher Carmen came in? And she was in the show while that undercover cop was posing as a student to get to a drug dealer? Yeah well after that what the hell happened to her? she wasnt even in the Opening Credits anymore? she rocked

And also with Lauren what happened to her she just wasnt there anymore.

Please Clear this up for me im so confused

Lauren was abruptly axed. I didn't think much of Carmen, despite she shook things up abit in Season Four, when Boston Public was starting to get it's act together. Then of course they cancelled it, just when it was getting good again.
