Slipknot is one of the worst HEAVY METAL bands to ever release a CD. Any band that has to wear halloween masks to draw attention to themselves suck. Real heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica(pre-load era), Megadeth, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Anthrax, Testament, Misfits, Slayer, Judas Priest and all the other true metal bands have never and will never use a stage prop like a mask to promote themselves. Slipknot isn't even worth all those great heavy metal bands time and they aren't even worth crapping on. Get a life, get some music sence and realize that Slipknot is an F-ing joke.

None of those bands use stage props? Are you joking? Have you ever even seen Iron Maiden Live or heard of Eddie? Seen Metallica live or the ridiculous amount of pyrotechnics they use? Judas Priest might not wear masks, but when they used to perform they were all decked out in copious amounts of bondage gear and leather. Mainstream metal has always used lots of stage props and silly outfits to get attention. Slipknot wearing masks is nothing more than their take on an old theme. Not trying to defend their music though, I think they are terrible.

To be honest blud, it doesn't sound like you know dick about Slipknot.

For one, the original idea of wearing masks when they performed was to keep their identities secret from their individual bands in the area to keep them from fighting. They were trying to establish an Iowa music scene, and anyone involved in an underground scene knows that the bands within it have to become friends to go anywhere or do anything. When they did that, it sorta caught on, so they decided to model their masks to fit their personalities. I'll agree with you that they should ditch the mask idea, however.

Slipknot work their asses off, make some good music and have alot of *beep* fun much of the time. Think they suck? Go do it better. I listen to almost anything calling itself metal, and if you're worth two *beep* I'll be a fan of you.

Btw as a side note: The Misfits are hardcore punk, not metal.

And Mudvayne, Mushroomhead, crossbreed, the list goes on and on, get over it. Some people want the fans to have fun and listen to music so they continue to do it. But like someone said, let's see YOU do any better before you start judging anyone and their way of making music

Yeah because Rob Halford never comes out in his leather get ups, and let us not forget the fact that the Misfits wear ghoul paint on stage.

You are just another hater who doesn't get the fact that Slipknot isn't metal. You attack them for not being something they aren't trying to be. It is the same thing and making fun of a guy for being gay when he is with his girlfriend.
