I'm surprised no one has mentioned...
...the obvious similarities between the bathroom scene and the No Doubt video "Ex-Girlfriend." When I saw "Kite," it was obvious that it was the inspiration for the video.

shareIt was brought up a long time ago, but the topic died out.
It was royally discussed that Gwen should die. In which I concur.
It was a crappy rip off by a crappy band.
wow, they jacked KITE frame-for-frame. Thx for telling me, now I know.
shareIt was actually the directors decision to rip off kite. I think it was Hype Williams or some other tool bag like that. But in the end they did decide as a band to go with that concept :/
shareIt was the director's "treatment" (look it up if you don't understand) for the band's song. He even mentions in the MTV "Making The Video" episode for the video that he got the idea from Kite and gives the anime full credit. It was in fact this reason that I rented Kite and fell in love with its story and animation. It seemed to be quirky at times (and if you dismiss the hentai scenes) one of the best animes of all time. Also, in a major label band's case, they have little to no say in what or how the music video is done; The decision is left up to the marketing department of their record label and the director. I know this, because it has happened 3 times to me and my band and we're just on Vagrant Records, a larger indie label... it actually gets worse and more disgusting the higher you climb in the music world, as your personal opinion and decisions are practically given little to no thought... just a little FYI.
shareYou can't even call it an homage, they just acted it out live action... badly.
shareSame thought went through my mind as I watched that part.
