I think he's getting better with age. Stellar performances in Nightcrawler, Prisoners, Enemy, Source Code and Zodiac. Haven't seen Southpaw yet but trailer looks great.

sgupta9020 is right on the money. However, "Donnie Darko" was the second film I'd seen him in (after October Sky) and became a fan right away. I'm glad his career is still interesting 15 years later.

I think he has grown as an actor. He's great in Donnie Darko for sure, but he's been great in a lot of things since. I recently watched Demolition which I liked and his chops have definitely grown.
