Why didn't this movie get more attention?
I think it is hilarious and nobody knows about it!! I just randomly rented it one day to watch it and though it was really funny, but I never saw anything about it b4 then.
shareIf I'm not mistaken this is one of the movies that was scheduled for release the weekend of 9-11-01 and it was decided that they shouldn't release it (airport security incompetance, rogue nuclear bombs etc.) until a good deal afterwards to much less fanfare than had been intended. Still damn funny.

shareThat's exactly right. I was working at the Miami International Airport in October 2000 when the film crews were filming at "Concourse A" for a possible Fall 2001 release. After 9-11, the producers decided it was the wrong time to release the movie.
When it was finally released, all they wanted to do is try to recover any investments they had made. It cost them $40 million to release it, not including $15 million for marketing and it only made around $8.4 million. Oh, well, those are the breaks.

I was under the impression that it actually did hit theaters and was out for a few days, but got pulled after 9/11 and they re-released it later with no publicity.
I'm more than willing to admit that I could be very wrong on that though. My memory from that period is really messed up due to a misadventure I won't go into right now.

I am just about 93% sure because I read somewhere about the movie and that it was in bad taste to have it be shown. But who knows memory after 45?
