Margot was definitely the more intellectual of the two. I wonder since she was so quiet, private and reseved, if she would have wanted her diary to be published? Anne rewrote her diary with the purpose of it having it published someday. But Margot, I dont' think so. So maybe not finding her diary was what Margot would have wanted.
From Anne's diary, they shared read certain passages of their diaries to each othe, so we know that Margot did keep a diary. How often she wrote in it, we will never know. But the impression I got from Anne's diary, and also the note she wrote to Anne regarding her feelings about Anne and Peter getting closer, was that she was even more reserved, and more "intellectualized" than Anne. I think she was a very heady girl who couldn't express her emotions as easily as Anne did. And probably more so in her own diary. Some people are like that. Anne's personality just jumps at you in her writings, making her more interesting and fascinating. She was an incredibly talented writer. I wonder if Margot was too, although I doubt it. Even though she was intelligent, it doesn't mean she was an interesting writer. But I guess we'll never know.
