What was she screaming?

When Anne and her father are being separated what was she screaming to him?
Why was she screaming it?
I knew she was upset but, I've seen this many times and I'm still trying to figure it out.

reply

she was screaming "pim" because thats what he called him

reply

Oh.

reply

She was screaming Pim (I haven't seen the movie, so it might have been "DADDY!") and she was screaming that because she was so close to her father so she was devastated to be seperated.

reply

Yeah, it was 'Pim' and it was because her and her father where so close that she gave him this nickname. In her diary she almost always refers to him as Pim.

Did anyone hear Anne scream "Dad!" at one point? I thought I did. Did this actually happen when Anne and her family arrived at the death camp? The first time I watched this scene I just burst out crying becuase it was such a devastating and shocking moment.

reply

I don't know if it happened exactly that way or not, but I was balling b/c I just figured that was the last time they would ever see one another...and I'm crying now just thinking about it.

reply

It happened every time...the males and females were always separated. Damn Nazis! How can human beings show so much cruelty to other human beings?

May the Force be with you!

"How can human beings show so much cruelty to other human beings?"

Free-floating anti semitism - plus

Punitive WW I damages - plus

Blame the economy on Jewish bankers - plus

Further dehumanize/demonize Jews - equals:

How to treat the "outed" Jews of one's own country with cruelty.

Jews and Palestinians do it to each other, as do Protestant/Catholic Irish, etc., etc. Dehumanize, demonize, disenfranchise, enact race laws, enforced through violence, deport, confine, torture, execute. Deny.
