What would have become of Anne had she lived?

I'm curious what everyone thinks about this. Her story is so difficult to read and watch portrayed because we all know how it ends but what if she'd made it to liberation or not been arrested at all? I think she still would have found a way to publish her diary, gone to school abroad, and become a noteworthy fiction writer. There is actually a collection of some of her stories called Tales from the Secret Annex that contains Cady's Life, some fairy tales, and day-to-day non-fiction if you're interested.

She would have become a respected journalist and lecturer, with a few highly acclaimed fiction and non-fiction books for young people.

She would never be as famous as she is today, of course.

Had she have lived she may not have become as famous.

That is exactly what I was thinking - after all, she was a child who wanted to be a writer, when I was a child I wanted to be a policeman and an astronaght, didn't happen, so who is to stay if she had never been arrested and killed by the Germans she would have got famous at all.

Buddy Elias, her first cousin, is famous. So, she more than likely would have been as well. Buddy said he would have loved it.

reply

He is famous because he is her cousin. She still could have published her diary, but it would not have the same effect as it does today if she had lived. That is the sad truth. The knowledge of the ending is needed to push the tragedy home.
