Boy in the Striped Pajamas may be the only Holocaust film I know of that took my breath away more than AFTWS, if only for the ending which I won't reveal. But, which one do you believe is more powerful?
Anne Frank. And I knew Anne Frank's fate before seeing the movie. With boy in the striped pajamas, I only knew would I could presume from the title/poster, so the end was a complete surprise.
But I just wasn't emotionally invested in the main characters, as I was with Anne Frank. Anne Frank was a very specific person, with her own flaws, talents, and interests. The kid in boy in striped pajamas wasn't.
This one definitely got me more as this one was real. Boy in the Striped Pajamas while the Holocaust is real that story wasn't. This one actually made me cry.
