From An Older Womans Point Of View---

---Wonderful to see the great Chow Yun Fat back on the screen in a good fun movie. He and Seann William Scott have good rapport together and Jaime King looks great in her all black outfit.

The story of the Monk who has kept the ancient scroll safe from the nasty Nazi villian who wants perpetual youth and to rule the world and his equally horrible daughter, is not too original, but based on a comic book what would you expect? But the good humor of the three leads makes it fun to watch. Chow has his signature gun fight, begins the film in a sword fight on a rope bridge, and has a helicopter fight and other derring do. I give this 8/10 and look forward to adding it to my collection of Chow films.

And did I say that Chow looks mahvelous, darling? Yum!

He's a man so many women could just eat and so many guys want to be like.

Too bad American will never relised his potential like the rest of the world already has.

A racist studio system, not working on talent, but skin colour.

Peace.

----I like to think so. I do see more and more different nationalties in our advertising. Have you noticed that? And just maybe the big honchos in entertainment will get the message: if companies think it's a good idea to advertise to all kinds of people, films should be have all kinds of people in them also. We can hope. It may be too late for the great Mr. Chow but I'll always watch my collection of 33 CYF films. And I bought them all from Amazon or Walmart so no pirated copies. Hope he gets some more good roles.

Actually I didn't notice that, I'm from Australia. But I hope it occurs in anycase. He's too great a talent to watse.

Put it this way, I'm 18 and such a big Chow Yun-Fat fan that I decided to learn Cantonese.

No offense to you, but what's with the obligatory sounding comic book bashing? Granted it was the generic "bad guy wants to take over the world" storyline, but I guarentee the comic is much more involved and more interesting than evil Nazis take over.

Instead of bashing comic movies, but then just saying "but ... what would you expect [from a comic book]" try reading the comic version itself to see whether it was the studio that messed up or not, which is usually the case with movies of this genre. Don't automatically bash it for being literary work with pictures.

BTW, did you enjoy the movie Road to Perdition? That was based on a comic too.

----but I loved them when I was a youngster.

I didn't know "Road To Perdition" was made from a comic. I loved it too. Interesting.

Well, seeing in your profile that you are retired, I can confidently say that comics have come a long way since you were a youngster. I would like to suggest that you go out and see if they still get you the way they did in the past- unless you read Archie and things of the sort, 'cause I'm amazed that they are still in print due to the lack of interest.

----when Batman and Superman comics first come out and we were mesmerized and couldn't wait for each new one. A long time ago - and almost another galaxy, far, far away.

I just wish that they were still as popular. I don't think that they get the credit that they deserve.
