All the ghosts looked horrifying; I can't get them out of my dreams.
Also, the plot freaked me out so much about the ghosts and the devil's machine.
The first death was the scariest of them all because it was so unexpected. When the lawyer was cut in half I jumped out of my seat in shock and absolute terror.
Awesome cast; no one overacted or underacted; it was just perfectly realistic. I recommended this film to my friends and they all have said they had to sleep with the lights on that night.
i am a huge horror fan, and i hated this movie. It felt like it was trying to be unique, but just had the same cliches over and over again. I thought the acting was very typical of a (bad) horror film. The directing (or lack of) was terrible. At least the original was campy and bad on purpose, this one was just plain bad. The fact that the day was saved by someones skills on a soundboard just shows what american horror cinema has come to.
However, i did enjoy the lawyer scene for pure gore value.
I watched with 10 ppl in a house with the lights off.... let me tell you guys, we turned the lights back on.
I jumped so hard that i fell off my chair, forealz dawg
one of the guy threw up cuz the ghosts were too scary and grotesque
another guy left and couldnt sleep
another one watching blindfolded himself cuz the suspense was TOO MUCH
for me, i was watching but after the movie was done, i was shaking so much, i thought there was an earthquake
I wonder to myself sometimes, is my house a house? I keep thinking its a machine...... MADE... By.... THE DEVIL! O SHIZZ
The cast was PERFECT! the ghosts were perfectly chosen. Each one was CREEPY, like the fat ghost that ate. He eats like never done before, and was straight up SCARY! And the ghost with the big tits was SO scary that it wasnt even hot.
but THE scary one was the dude that had his face caged. WTF? He scratched so ferousoculy ( damn i cant spell cuz im shaking fkjsafn wofmdsalsd) like a TIGER ON KRACK. <<<<<<<<<<<<<SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>
The scene where he scratched the daughter so much, it hurt me.
WAIT>... I THINK I HEAR GHOST IN MY BATHTROOM I g2g
really? hmm..the only film that's ever come close to scaring me (I was not allowed to watch horror films when I was younger) was the Ring. I enjoyed this, a lot but it was more shocking/gory then scary...IMHO

Same here. It's a disturbing movie, but the Ring is much scarier (also the only movie that really creeped me out, even though I watched it in a theater full of people). Still, Thir13en Ghosts is one of my favorite horror films.
WTF are you guys all like 10? I watched it in High Def on a Projector alone and I thought of it more like a Comedy than a Horror Movie, ES or Sixth Sense was scary but not this ^^ Only thing that made it good was the full frontal ghost nudity and the daughter :P
I am going to have to agree with dex. I saw this movie when I was like 16 and somewhat scared of horror movies. I had no bad dreams or scary thoughts after seeing this. Don't get me wrong, I was entertained, just not scared. Although some people thought I was stupid for being scared from House on Haunted Hill.
This movie haunted me when I first saw it when I was like 12 or whatever
I remember watching it like 3 times within a month and being scared everytime
It was just on the movie channels yesterday and I like the movie still just didn't freak me out although that guys with the spikes through him is pretty scary so is the jackal
yeah this movie gave me the sharts worse than any movie i have ever seen. it even scared me worse than the blair witch project. i kept thinking about the juggernaut at night when i needed to pee, it made midnight toilet visits bloody terrifying for me. scared the absolute snot out of me.
are you all taking the pi-55? This was the most unscary film, there wasn't a single jumpy scene in the whole film. Wanna see a scary film, see Shutter!
Man..I guess i need to see this movie again..everyone is saying it was scary as Sh!T..I though it was decent but nothing compared to "the exorcism of emily rose"..that movie wasnt a great movie..but sure made me jump more than this.
I haven't seen The Exorcism of Emily Rose and I heard it wasn't all that good, but I also heard it was pretty damn scary. Still, I thought the second Excorcist film was also pretty *beep* but pretty scary in bits too.
Go to the loo, 'cause all the *beep*'s coming out your mouth instead of your a-hole...
Uuhhh, if you don't find horror movies scary then you're the odd one out. If no one found them scary then they'd stop making them. I'm not saying I *beep* my pants and start shaking. It just gets the adrenaline running from the tension and hte bits that make you jump. It's awesome, I love it!!

thank you sir or ma'am for practicing suspension of disbelief! ugh ppl bitch way too much about how un realistic movies are...shockingly enough movies are in fact not real ppl. oh well. anyways in regards to this movie didn't really scare me but i sure do love it to bits.

That may be true, but have you seen A Sound of Thunder? It's impossible to suspend disbelief when the special effects appear as if they never made it past pre-production.
the look of the house was impressive and some of the ghosts were scary enough, but its really the kinda movie that you could go without seeing. 13 ghosts' acting was pretty bad and it had a weak cast, it just seemed like they picked all the wrong people for the living roles, although the lawyer passed as a dickhead, and shannon elizabeth is pretty hot. i think tony shaloub as the lead in this movie was the big mistake though, he just wasn't right for it. the movie is visually pleasing at times but thats about all it has going for it.
