I find it odd that the car Chihiro's father drives has left-hand drive (LHD) even though Japan uses left-hand traffic. Is it legal to operate LHD vhiecles in Japan, or is this the result of a few shots being flipped?
shareI believe so. If you watch the movie "love exposure", the priest's girlfriend has a LHD and she drives all the time on japanese streets.
shareI think it's a little dig at his character - he thinks a lot of himself, doesn't he? He likes to drive a conspicuously foreign car.
The shots aren't flipped, otherwise all the traffic would be on the wrong side of the road.
It occurred to me recently that Mr. Ogino may work for Audi in Japan. That would certainly explain his possession of, and enthusiasm for, his 1st-generation A4, with left-hand drive and 'Quattro' four-wheel propulsion.
