after watching the travesty that was indy 4, i started playing it again however i remember a puzzle with coal and melting a cat statue that wasn't in it is the talking version a lite version or something?

You're talking about finding the Lost Dialogue of Plato. This is a puzzle that's different with each playthrough. Sometimes the dialogue will be in the wax cat, sometimes in the overturned bookcase, sometimes in the urn in the attic. It's completely random.
