I love this movie!
I am usually not a fan of romantic comedies but I love this movie (except the ending) because woman can relate to Judds character trying to find understanding after her break up. People spend months trying to figure out, "what went wrong" and it cracks me up that she found the answer to her relationship problems by comparing them to mating rituals of cows. It DOES seem the same way men treat women until she realizes that Ray went back to an old cow. Then the scene in the bedroom with Eddie where she admits that basically she is hoping there is antother reason for her failed relationships that isn't her fault. I love watching this movie after a break up because it actually cheers me up for some reason.
I didn't like the ending though. I was hoping that the ending would be her moving on instead of the stock romantic comedy ending of finding love with someone else. I thought by the look on her face at the end that she realized she didn't need Ray and not all men are jerks. I think it would have been awesome that instead of falling for Eddie, she took what he said about Ray not being the only man she is ever going to love to heart and let go. Nothing in the movie would have had to change except the ending when Eddie gets mad, leaves, she goes running after him and they live happily ever after.
Instead I would have rather seen her continue on with her life after realizing there isn't anything wrong with her and there are "other men out there" and let go of Ray. I can't give a fantastic full dialouge ending example because I'm not a writer but there was an opportunity to get away from the typical romantic comedy.
