Is it just me or is the ending of this film remarkably like the ending to "Bridgit Jones Diary"?
First Guy runs away and girl runs after him through streets.
She cathces up with him and they make up and kiss and guy wraps coat around girl.
Even the same song plays. "Someone like you" by Van Morrison.
Of course it's not just you. It's exactly what happens. Also very similar to any number of romantic comedies. Two Weeks Notice, for example. And Van Morrison seems to make very common romantic comedy music.

However, overall, BJD was a much better, smarter, funnier movie than "Someone Like You".
Van Morrison is overplayed in romantic comedies. In "What a Girl Wants" they played that "Have I told you lately that I love ya" song at the end!
Yeah, not just that..... But they also have a song sung by a Shelby on there... In case you don't know what I'm talking about, In Bridget Jones' Diary, the song was playing during her b-day dinner (with orange goo and blue soup) That's weird

i guess they ran out of endings ..... haha but if you think individualy, the ending could have been better for someone like you..... shouldnt have ended so fast
shareI noticed that, too. I think this movie was made right when the Romantic Comedy Formula was in full swing, and that always includes tons of culturally-relevant pop songs. Maybe it was just coincidence, because there is bound to be overlap in these soundtracks - if you watch a few romantic comedies from the late 90s through the early 2000s, you actually hear a lot of repetition.
In Kate & Leopold, that is brought up more than once - this over-reliance on pop songs starting up constantly, like it is somehow necessary for the genre.
Or... maybe it was meant to be a nod to Bridget Jones's Diary? The thing with the coat... Yeah, that could be too similar to be coincidence.

In the (near) future, I think people will be so sick of this format that it will totally change, and we will be laughing at the campiness of scenes like that...
Reminds me a little of the ending from Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961). Girl dumps cat out of taxi on side of the street in the rain. Guy gets out of taxi to run after cat. Girl gets out of taxi to run after guy and cat. Girl rescues cat. Guy wraps raincoat around girl and cat and kisses the girl.
Que the song "Moon River." The End. It's all good.

the ending is kinda rough....not really good...
but overall...i like this moive and i guess i can watch it many times without feeling bored.
