Yes it is your opinion so i'm not going to say its B.S. because who am I to judge your views? But i'm really surprised that you would put that movie ahead of Christmas Vacation. Vacation came out around November 89' I believe and was at least Chevy's last box office success. Its personally my favourite of his films. I'm a big fan of Caddyshack, Fletch (which is probably his best star vehicle) and the original Vacation. I think they are all great movies and most actors would be happy to be in aything like that quality of pictures and especially comedies in their career. I thought Foul Play was okay but I really enjoyed Chevy in it (his first film role). A lot of folk like European Vacation, Spies Like Us, The 3 Amigos and Fletch Lives. Well i thought they were okay aswell and at least watchable. As for Funny Farm.......well I think its a nice film. There are some laugh out loud moments (ie.- throwing the coffee over the singing bird on the tree outside his window was hall of fame stuff for me) and it had a pretty uplifting ending. But i just thought that Christmas Vacation was his 'tour de force' so to speak. Every year Christmas is not complete for me without at least one viewing of it. So many classic moments i'm not even going to start.
The one Chevy movie from the 80s that i had no time for was Deal of the Century. I just didn't know what it was trying to achieve. It seemed to try funny/ serious and to be carrying some anti war message all at the same time but pulled none of it of and ended up being an awful mess, and with a great cast to. I have never seen Seems Like Old Times( but heard it was tedious), Under the Rainbow or Modern Problems so I couldn't comment.
As for the 90s well I did think Memoirs of an Invisible Man was pretty decent movie. Chevy just seems to make cameos these days ( 2 0f the films he popped up in , namely 'Orange County' and 'Dirty Work' were actually very funny but little seen comedies) or do voice work for kids cartoons. This relates to comments he made in the early 90s ,when he took a few years off, about him not wanting to do any adult orientated movies and preffering family stuff. This has led to Chevy's talents as a great funny/straight guy wisecracker somewhat going to waste over the last 15 years. I think that Vegas Vacation, though by no means terrible, was a somewhat ill advised attempt to recharge his career at the top. At his peak he was good enough to rival Bill Murray but that was some time ago and whilst Bill has gone from strength to strength Chevy has all but been posted missing from the Hollywood scene. I would love it if the movie 'Funny Money' kicked off a bit of a comeback for him. I have no idea what it's about but the cast seems pretty decent and that usually means there is something there. Here's hoping.
Any updates on if its coming out. Man its weird to think I first read your post over a year ago. I was totally convinced this was going to be Chevy's big comeback but it didn't even get a release.

It scored well at that film festival and should be out later this year!
The following scam comes from The Sting, Part 2, so NOBODY knows about it!
