Faithful to the stage play?
I was very surprised today to see that this film is the the works, as only last night I went to see the stage version at the Grand Theatre, Swansea, South Wales. Sublimely funny, and very well acted, by Christopher Ellison and Eastenders' John Altman amongst others. It's a very very frenetic play, with the complications piled up so much that the audience may have difficulty following the plot - and figuring out who thinks who is who. I can't wait to see what an American cast does with it, and which parts have to be Americanised, as on stage it's a very "British" farce.
In particular Penelope Ann Miller's part calls for a lot of physical comedy - pratfalling, banging her head, getting thrown about - so I'm intrigued to see how she measures up to Emmerdale's Sally Ann Matthews!
This is the first Ray Cooney farce that's been made into a film (as far as I am aware) since 1976's Not Now Comrade:

That film was not well received at all (though actually I love it)!
"Run For Your Wife" seems to be the most obvious of his farces for film treatment though - I'm surprised that it hasn't been made.
