Worst movie I've seen recently

Do not watch this movie! I really think people who give this movie good ratings must be part of the production or something because this movie is really crappy. The concept of the movie is not bad. It's just the crappy acting, dialogue and editing. Plus the actors that is not in sync with each other. The worst is that woman penelope miller.

Come on now...this is really an insult to moviegoers.

reply

I really couldn't agree more!

Saw this movie with a couple of friends, going in with no expectations, ready for simple yet entertaining movie. Love most of the Chevy Chase movies, but this wasn't even close to being a success.

First of all, there's plot holes all over the place. The fact that they mix in a bunch of fictional characters don't seem to help following the story either.

Also, I do have to agree on Penelope Miller being a pain in the ass. Has over acting written all over her.

If you like the old Chevy movies, avoid this one, and just forget he ever touched it.

reply

Its supposed to be like that u dumb asses, u guys dont know *beep* about movies, this one was very good one, real comedy like the 80 90`s damn kids, how can u not like this one?? i really cant understand that, very funny, laughed so mutch

reply

This was on last night. It was awful!!!!!!!!!!

reply

i thought this was a canny film. Its not the best in the world, but i laughed at a canny few bits.

Dunno why ya so down on it.

Oh, and i am not on the production staff.

reply

I was on the production staff and after seeing the final cut I went ahead and killed myself. That made it a "once in a lifetime" movie for me! And yes, once was plenty. Even as I lay here as a corpse I don't think I could stand to see this movie again unless they propped me up. I am sure there are words to describe how awful this movie really is but why bother to even write them down?

The only redeeming thing about this movie is that "Ishtar" no longer holds the title of "Worst Movie of all Time" since this buzzard easily was worse!

reply

agreed. old people humor, penelope miller was the worst screen character i have ever seen, and overall nothing new. really really bad movie.

reply

I had to turn it off halfway through the movie, honestly I've never done that before. Do not watch this crap, doing your dishes will satisfy you more.

reply

Oh man... I've seen a lot of bad movies, but this has got to be one of the worst I've ever seen. During the entire movie I never laughed once. I'm not kidding. Who was the intended audience for this movie? Retarded children? The "acting" is so bad it's excruciatingly painful to watch and the "humor" wouldn't work back in the 40s. Penelope Ann Miller could really use an acting class or two. As could some of the other actors. And I see in the credits that there was a director. I would never have guessed. Avoid this turd like plague.

Geez... what happened to Chevy Chase? How did he fall so low? He doesn't deserve this. He was one of my favorite comedians.

reply

by - Powa "During the entire movie I never laughed once."

I actually did laugh once and that was because when I saw that mysterious guy in the trenchcoat coming out of the cab, I chuckled to myself and said in a mocking voice, "Mr. Big". Then Chevy says it later and I was like, "whaaaat....?, ha ha um..ha".

This whole movie seemed insulting to me and I honestly don't know which one I hated more. This one or Van Wilder 2.

I almost made it to the end...and i tried real hard. Poor Chevy, he hit rock
bottom with this one. I really would like to know the IQ of people who actually
find this movie funny. Run for your lives!

reply

I managed to endure 30-40 minutes of this turgid crap before I hit the eject button, the scene when the Cop first calls round and Penelope Ann Miller's consequent over-acting was quite awfull, Chevy-retire please.

reply

Same here, after 20 - 30 mins it was really hard to keep going on, and agreed Penelope's constant outbursts only hastened my desire to stop watching this joke of a movie. Why did chevy even agree to do this movie ??? Terrible movie, give it a miss you'll thank me.

reply

It wasn´t necessarily a bad movie, it just wasn´t the kind of comedy that is popular today. It´s honestly a traditional Chevy Chase-, Stewe Martin movie. One annyoing scene follows the other, they´re tickling your nerves to the point that you want to punch a wall or kick the glass from your coffee table. I´m proud that I made it to the end without causing permanent damage to myself or my apartment.

reply

Agreed. That was the first thing I thought when I watched it "What the hell happened to him" I guess getting old as an actor makes you less selective. I watched Nothing but trouble a few times to wash the thought of Chevy doing qa bad movie out of my mind.

reply

I just finished watching it, and I thought it was delightful.

reply

i think the movie was overall good for a comedy (im more into serious movies myself in general though) i gave it a 7/10. (but if i had to choose between a 6 or 8, i would choose 6) chevy chase was solid... although i gotta agree with you that penelope miller was not to good in it (this movie just dont fit her and she was just not that funny) .... i also tend to agree with you about the actors not meshing to well together.... although it was not horrible. i also gotta admit once it started getting closer to the end it seemed like it was draged out a little to long.

for me the bottom line though i think without chevy chase it would not have been good. (maybe 5or6/10 then, closer to a 5ish)

all in all i liked it for a comedy but was not blown away... i think the movies better than it's 5.1/10 rating though.... but then again only 400+ people voted so once we get a few thousand we can probably get a more accurate picture of what the general public thinks of it.

--------------

p.s. but if u ask me whats the worse movie i seen recently (with last 3-4months) i would say BORAT by far... that movie was one of the worst movies i have seen in years (possibly ever)... it's just nasty and not funny, borat reminds me of tom green at times and i cant stand that guy. (borat i give 1/10.. and i rarely if ever rate movies a 1)

reply

Agreed about Borat. That movie was absolutely dreadful.

reply

This movie was decent IMO. I laughed several times and cannot believe people are complaining about overacting in a COMEDY!!

Is overacting actually possible in a movie not meant to be serious to begin with? Besides has anyone involved in this project ever been hailed for their acting prowess? The only one close would be Robert Loggia. Quite frankly when I watch a comedy I could care less about the acting. All I want are some laughs. The lines were certainly simple in this movie, but the timing worked for my remedial ass.

Penelope Ann Miller was annoying because of her character more than her acting. The whole movie would have been better without a whiney bitch written into the script.

BTW my IQ is 47 and I live in the backwoods of West Virginia bitches. I might be a retard for liking this movie, but I would love to see you try to steal my sister. ;)

reply

Well I've seen one person sadly, but proudly displaying a "Bill Maher for president" slogan, another who watched "Nothing But Trouble" as an ALTERNATIVE TO A BAD MOVIE, one more who admitted to watching Van Wilder 2, and at least a couple who hated Borat. And these are the people who did NOT like Funny Money. That makes me think it may be worth watching then.

reply

Where did I say I did not like this movie?

Even Bill Maher could be a better President than Bush. Hell, I would watch Van Wilder 2 again before putting a Bush bumpersticker over my eyes. I would rather view the world in reality.

reply

made it 28 minutes through before i had to change the flick. absolutely awful, and i can't think of a single positive thing to say about this movie.

This movie isn't supposed to be taken seriously for god sakes. It's virtually straight to DVD. I only saw it because I'm trying to see 100 movies in 2007 (This was #27) and so when I go to the video store I usually pick up anything released this year no matter how crappy (Case and point, I also rented Stomp the Yard last night). I thought this film was fun and entertaining and really kind of an homage to classic caper movies like The Pink Panther (Though I'm in NO way comparing the two). I'd give it a 6/10, I watched it all the way through, I smiled all the way through. I think they suceeded in making this low budget comedy entertaining at least.

reply

u didnt laugh at all !?! Can kids below 10 just stop comment on movies, Mange your brain, Work your brain! u must be real stupid in your head if u dont get the clever brilliant jokes they do all the time, and that guy from four romms so great actor

reply

Calling people stupid and not knowing how to spell is positively hilarious!

Grammar is important. Maybe people would take you seriously if you made more sense. Or maybe if you stopped immediately criticizing everyone who disagrees with you just because you seem to think you have some AMAZING movie taste...which most people would probably disagree with.

reply

You should give the poster some leeway, after all, if he laughed at anything in this production, he must have been on serious meds.
