The Sun Continues To Set On Chevy Chase

Simply Awful.

Chevy Chase plays Clark Griswald with a suitcase of money.

People want this movie to be a success. I wanted this movie to be a success.

Clark Griswald: Food Additives Expert
Funny Money Character: Wax Fruit Expert

Clark Griswald: Unhappy with his occupation and where it has lead him
Funny Money Character: Same

Where is the arrogant Chevy? Where is the snappy, quick witted Chevy?

I'm so sick of Chevy playing psuedo losers who have been run over by life.
They are unrealistic. Play a character more based in reality.

Take a page from Bill Murray and try other stuff besides bad comedy.

I'm sorry, I wish I coould say this is Chevy's Pulp Fiction.

It is not. Somebody please give this man a chance with a decent script before
it is completely over for him.

Or give him a gun. This was a complete crapfest. The screenwriter needs led in the head as well.

further cementing chevy as a has-been. too bad, so many people want him to do well but the old chevy is just not coming back.

I enjoyed this movie, it's great to see Chevy actually have a starring role and this movie won't be to everybody's taste but to many who actually enjoyed the play it is a riot. Critics have favoured it too. Chevy was on top form and while he's not going to be swearing his ass off in a car full of kids anymore this movie put a big smile on my face. I enjoy Bill Murray's output but all he does now is play an old man as he daren't be seen as unrealistic in a comedy role.

Broken Flowers - straight faced sad old man

Lost In Translation - straight faced sad old man

The Life Aquatic - Straight faced sad old man

And Im a Bill Murray fan, bought two of those movies.

I was very sceptical to this. But like with all SNL related movies, I thought I'd give it a chance.

I thought it looked like a sad, unfunny b-movie disaster at first, and I was thinking to myself that Chase was now finally officially finished in the business. But then, after 40 minutes or so. When complications started to occour in the plot, and Chase started to act like his old self again, I found myself belly laughing quite a lot.

My verdict is that this movie is a b-comedy, and it could probably have been better. But once again, Chase's talent saves a movie from total disaster. And I can honestly say that I think he's still got it!

As far as Bill Murray goes:

I'm a BIG fan too. But I only liked Lost In Translation of the three movies mentioned above. As an actor though, he's still great.
