I've been rewatching Star Trek Enterprise on Amazon Prime. I enjoyed it when it was first run and just as much now. I expected this series to be limited due to the time frames, so, wasn't disappointed at the ending.

The reason I'm posting on the episode, "Carbon Creek", is because I was curious if any of the people the Vulcan's touched while there are noted in the future. But, the remarkable residents in Carbon Creek do not have last names noted. So, we don't know if there is an Archer, Kirk, or other that lived there.

It would've been nice if T'Pol would have been able to footnote the ending of Mestral, but, it also leaves it open the possibility he was still alive at the time of Enterprise, but he would have been extremely old even for a Vulcan.

Great episode, but I agree with u that some future tie-ins and subtle references to TOS would have really sweetened the show.

There was a subtle reference to TOS made by Mestral,he made this comment that"I need to go now. I Love Lucy is on tonight. "Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz(the stars of I love Lucy) were the owners of Desilu the production company that produced the original Star Trek series.

Lucille Ball was Gene Roddenberry's wing man in getting the show produced.

Being alive during the time of Enterprise would be extremely unlikely. There are nearly 200 years between Carbon Creek and the series, which is the typical lifespan of a Vulcan. Spock's father Sarek was 203 years old and when he died and was considered quite aged.

I'd like to believe that Mestral was still alive in 2063 when Vulcans and Humans made first contact. Only then did the Vulcan High Command find out about T'Mir's lie and include him in their official records.

I loved the people of Carbon Creek, I wanted them to have a spinoff series, I thought that episode was much more interesting, the characters more compelling, than the Enterprise crew, I grew attached to them in just that one episode of time, more than any of the series regulars of Enterprise

Totally agree! But it would have been more like a family drama and not a sci-fi, even though it would have a Vulcan.

Let's toss around some ideas about how he would eventually explain his physiological differences. For the ears he could use something ala Spock: got his head caught in a mechanical rice picker.
