Ending?

The Grandmother dies. And Ting Ting , Yang Yang and the father and mother are at the funeral. And Yang Yang finally talks to the grandmother. By reading her and the others one of his written short-stories. I felt it was absolutely heartbreaking. The most emotional scene of the movie in my opinion. Even writing this now almost makes me cry. And after that the movie ends.

But there happend a lot more I recommend you watch it again :D

No sense telling you the plot points. The movie picks up momentum toward the end, especially at the point you stopped watching. If you really liked it, rent or buy the DVD and see the whole thing again, and again. Yi Yi is quite a gem!

The film is 173 minutes (just a few minutes shy of 3 hours) long, and the whole first half is largely setup. You didn't just miss the ending, you missed practically the whole movie.
