Flickering light in the hotel hallway

Before NJ and Sherry get off the hotel elevator, there is a light flickering in the hallway ceiling. Am I reading too far into this or did that scene symbolize something? What is your interpretation of this?

I wondered the same thing. It obviously wasn't there by accident (Yang was too careful for that).
