Putting her in her place
Her previous student seemed to be amused at her suffering. I feel like we as the audience were meant to enjoy to a degree a woman who was once a b*tch in a high position be stripped of all her dignity by Cancer and then feel sad at the end for what was left over.
I feel like most of the movie was just putting her in her place. Now I know it was based on a play but there is an undertone here that I just can't shake.
Really, I don't agree with it. I hate the idea of anyone suffering and a loss of dignity is a terrible thing.
