What parts made you cry?

Let me start by saying that, as many people have already pointed out, this is an extremely difficult movie to watch. I didn't cry as much as I expected I would, and I'm sort of surprised that the part that *did* make me cry wasn't really even directly connected to Vivian's cancer...

It's when she is remembering the first time she ever read a book, "The Tale of the Floppsy Bunnies." I loved how in the movie they would go back and forth between Vivian as a little girl at home, then grown Vivian struggling over the words, then showing her father in the hospital... all such incredible visuals you can't achieve on stage. Anyway I think the crying began for me when you see a tear roll down the adult Vivian's cheek as she remembers this simple memory, and her late father.
"They're sleeping, like you said! Soporific!"

The part that made me cry in a loud heaving sigh was when the nurse put moisturizer on Vivian's hands.

Yes, absolutely the bunny story. Actually, I started crying from the minute I saw the professor in the hospital...of all the people in Vivian's life, none of her friends sought her out, but this professor from her past (perhaps they were contact over the years, but the prof seemed long retired) is the one who sought her. I cried during her entire scene, including, of course, the reading of the Runaway Bunny. In addition, the scene in which the nurse put moisturizer on her hands really got me. My mother did the same thing for my father when he was sick (also with cancer).

None of her friends came to visit her because she had none.

I started crying when she does her monologue about wanting to crawl up into a ball...and from then on I couldnt really stop. Its so devastating. But the really big sobs came when Eileen Atkins comes to visit and reads her the story...oh my god I'm getting a lump in my throat just thinking about it. Heartbreaking.

When the nurse take emma's hands and put her some hands cream. The way she took care about her i such a different level than the doctor. She make her feel like human, like that fragil woman instead an statistic... such a beautiful scene...

The nurse applying hand-cream to Vivian was very touching. Oddly enough, I didn't cry during this movie at all. I just felt mesmerized by Emma's performance and grateful that she had such a good nurse to help her to her journey's end.

So late, but I'm watching it now on HBO, even though it's almost done. Every time it gets to the "Runaway Bunny" part, it makes me shed a lot of tears. Arvo Pärt's Spiegel im Spiegel only made the tearjerker part more effective.
