This movie was very substandard (spoilers)
Just let me say, I am generally a fan of romantic comedies. However, I couldn't help but roll my eyes at BJD. Was the idea of Darcy leaving his fiancée for Bridget really the slightest bit realistic? First Darcy and Bridget were introduced to each other at a dinner party by their parents, then they met again and he professed to like her? After spending maybe a mere two minutes together. Moving on: Darcy has dinner with Bridget and her friends, then later Bridget apologizes for mistaking him to be an *beep* and next thing you know Darcy canceled his plans to move to New York and ended his engagement with Natasha.
The development of this movie felt very rushed to me. Darcy and Bridget had hardly spent any time together, and the time they had wasn't particularly charming or inspiring. Maybe I am just biased because I am not a fan of Renée Zellweger to begin with. I don't mean to whine, but I was disappointed with this one. Any thoughts?
