Has anyone thought of this as an idea?

I haven't seen this idea anywhere, if it is somewhre, sorry to waste your time.
Anyways, considering family guy came back becaue of dvd sales, can shows like the Lone Gunmen and others be revived by iTunes sales of tv shows?

reply

All things considered, I really don't think FOX has any interest in reviving The Lone Gunmen. They didn't support the show well when it came out the first time.

I suppose if it really blows the roof off the sales, maybe, but the DVD has been out for months now and that hasn't exactly happened.

yeah but iTunes is different. You can watch it on the go, pay a cheaper price, and only have your select epsiodes. Fox got rid of it because it wasn't doing well in ratings. If it became a hit on iTunes, it would show that loads of people want it, and they would revive it. Although, they may only revive it via iTunes so it wouldn't cut into the tv schedule. Wouldn't that be interesting.

They killed off the Gunmen in the X-Files episode "Jump the Shark", and while they could come up with a storyline to explain their return from the dead, I just don't think it'll happen. Especially now that the X-Files are gone.

reply

They could always set it earlier. The lone gunmen were together since 1989. Although they would obviously have to get rid of Jimmy and Yves. But I agree it's unlikely to happen.

reply

We didn't see them die though.

reply

Yeah but Mulder saw their ghosts in "The Truth".

reply

No necessarily their 'ghosts'. Mulder could have been hallucinating, you know.

I know, it's a weak argument, but anything to keep hope alive that LGM are still alive and kicking somewhere.

They were exposed to an extremely deadly, extremely contagious nerve agent. I don't see how they could have survived that unless they all turned out to have some kind of natural immunity to it.

I don't think TLG is available on iTunes. I don't see it...

We don't know that... we never see them die. We assume they'll die, but we never see it.

reply

We saw their Funeral. I guess they were suppose to show them coughing, gagging, bleeding and puking on the show so we could make sure they were gone.
And they were GHOSTS in The Truth. Really, I just watched it on TNT this morning.

reply

Hehe, true. Damn the ghosts.

Well, Mulder saw ghosts of several dead characters in the final episode. Usually, seeing a dead person is treated as a a symbol that the person is nearing death, which made me believe Mulder would die. Mulder didn't die however, meaning that it's possible the people he saw were figments of his imagination.

I sincerely doubt this show could come back, though I really wish it would.

The Gunmen are dead.

reply

it doesnt matter if they're dead. In season 8 of the X-files Mulder died and came back to life

They'll never pick this show up again, as much as we may or may not want it, because no network will foot the bill for a show that bases an episode on the premice of government spooks trying to fly a plane into the Towers to fund the arms industry - barely months before the horror that actually occured.
