Were they really ... (SPOILER...?)

SPOILER

Were they really killed? I admit that I haven't seen that episode of x-files in a while, but as I recall we saw them sealed behind the door, and then we see some fresh graves.

No death scene.

Wouldn't it be just like a show about consipiracy theories to leave this door open as well?

OK I am replying to myself. Since posting this message I see that the topic has been covered elsewhere in this board OOPS...

OK so everyone says that they appear to Mulder as ghosts, and therefore end of story. But... what if that wasn't really Mulder that saw them, but FAKE Mulder made up by the aliens huh? huh? It seems to me that at one point there was a fake Mulder... yeah OK I am grasping...

LOL I like your thinking. I am just now getting into the X-Files, watch thru season 5, waiting to get the movie before moving on, but it has lead me to The Lone Gunman, which I am now watching. Love the series and can wait to see Jump The Shark.

That is way cool. I enjoyed the first few seasons of x-files very much; nothing else quite like it. I should go back and watch some of those again. The movie also I thought was very entertaining.

Yes I will be curious to see what you think, after you have watched that episode, and the end of the series and so forth.

Several people on the message board have said this, that the fact of the Lone Gunmen showing up as ghosts proves they are dead. But in my opinion Mulder isn't seeing actual ghosts, rather they are all projections from within himself. Since he assumes the Lone Gunman are dead, his subconscious is free to project them as ghosts.

I miss heroes like this on TV, rather than Japanese fellows that can teleport and other claptrap...
