X-Files and the 'Gunmen'

Apologies to board regulars for jumping my thread to the top of the board. I'm newly interested in the series. I was vaguely aware of both X-Files and The Lone Gunmen when they were "in production." I was not a real ball-of-fire fan at the time, but I am now! I know they appeared in roughly 36 or 37 episodes of The X-files. I would like to watch all X-Files episodes in which they appeared as well as all episodes of their own series, In Order. To watch their origins, watch them develop, watch them evolve, etc. What episodes of The X-Files would any of the regulars here, suggest I watch to get a complete picture? Thanks.

Mel_bor_ing - you should watch 'The X-Files' episode 'The Unusual Suspects' (season 5, episode 3) first. This serves as a pilot for 'The Lone Gunmen' detailing the formation of the group. The X-Files' episode 'Three of a Kind' (season 6, episode 20) continues this story.

Also, you should watch 'The X-Files' episode 'Jump the Shark' (season 9, episode 15) after 'The Lone Gunmen' series, as that is the conclusion of the 'The Lone Gunmen' episode 'All About Yves'.

Thanks Knut. I watched EBE from Season 1, which I guess was their first appearance. It left me wanting more. The episodes you suggest looks like they "cut right to the chase" as far as the Gunmen are concerned. Good info to know.

No problem Mel_bor_ing, pleased to help. The Lone Gunmen appeared in over 30 episodes of 'The X-Files', but I felt that the ones listed above were particularly important to the development of the groups story.

Thanks MovieKnut for the info on the concluding episode.
I was wondering what happened after the last episode on this series.
though i am still on season 5 of X-files (re-watching), so that episode in S09 is quite far away !

Byers,Langly, and Frohike never got the respect they deserved, but at least they got to die heroically, and a proper military burial to boot! These guys brightened every episode of "The X-Files" they were in.

Honestly, I would just watch the entire series of X-Files and Lone Gunmen. It really fills in all the holes.
