Quentin Tarantino in disguise?

Does it seem to anyone else that the character of "Man Writing a Novel at the Bar" looks, sounds and has the mannerisms of Quentin Tarantino? The credit is "Alex Nixon (I) (?–2008)". Birthdate unknown? I've watched the movie several times and I believe it's really Quentin Tarantino in disguise. What do you think?

I see the resemblance, but I don't think it's Quentin Tarantino. Perhaps it was this fellow (obituary from 2008): www.legacy.com/obituaries/statesman/obituary.aspx?n=alex-nixon&pid =118928267.
