Random Guy in the parking lot quote

It's been a while since I watched this movie and I can't remember for the life of me how this quote goes. It happens in a moment where the main character is walking (possibly a transition between scenes) and a random guy walks past him and drops a really profound quote and continues to walk away. Anyone know the quote I'm talking about?

No regrets, that's my motto. That and "Everybody Wang Chung tonight."

You haven't met your self yet, but the advantage to meeting others in the mean time is that one of them may present you to your self. Examine the nature of everything you observe; for instance, you might find your self walking through a dream... parking lot, and yes those are dream feat inside of your dream shoes, part of your dream self, and so the person you appear to be in the dream can not be who you really are. This is an image; a mental model.

I think you mean the part where he's about to walk in the store and some dude walks out and randomly says, "As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle, being swept along is no longer enough."

This is actually a meaningful quote for me because i've been told that i'm like a leaf floating down the river, and i never thought it was a good thing. As i realize more about life, hopefully I can stop this floating down the river thing, and instead direct my course in life.

I thought it also had something to do with the plot (could also have had a deeper meaning), but it was just after the Main Character finds out he is really just stuck in this dream he keeps waking up and is still in the dream and as he finds this out and also learns about lucid dreaming just simply going along with the dream is not good enough he wants to know why and he wants to know how he can wake up. My take on the scene.
